Planning our homeschool year is one of my favorite things to do. My planning sheets and planner have always been sufficient for keeping all of my ideas organized, but this year, I needed a bit more room for it all.
This homeschool year, I have a 4th grader, a 1st grader, and a 3 year-old. We spend half of our homeschool time together, reading the Bible, living books about geography and science, and beautiful literature and poetry. We also memorize scripture, poetry, math facts, and other important texts, and listen to fun songs from other parts of the world.
The older two work at their independent level for Math, Language Arts, and Reading, and I also work in “Together Time” with my “playschooler. Putting all of the pieces together was a bit of a challenge for me, so I decided that this year, I would work smarter, not harder.
I looked all over the web for a planner that would help me organize all of my thoughts and ideas, and even bought one along the way, but nothing seemed to be a good fit . . .
Until I found this beautiful planner by Anna Vance PaperCo. It’s a Charlotte Mason-inspired planner with beautiful watercolor paintings, quotes and scriptures, and plenty of space for jotting down ideas, booklists, attendance, and so much more.
For me, one of the most useful tools was the “Map Your Year” section that allowed me to plug in our days for the year. I was able to create a year-round schedule that worked for my family.
The covers also included a wet-erase page and a pocket to hold all of my extras. I also loved the accent stickers, included bookmarks, and the oh-so-sweet personalized note from Anna herself! The planners she sells are handmade, and it’s easy to see that so much love goes into each and every one.
In the back of the planner, there were plenty of extra pages for me to brainstorm a daily routine, field trips, future curricula, and so much more!
The layout was also perfect for planning everything for all three children. The two-page spread gave me plenty of space for jotting down all of the individual subjects, along with the activities and lessons we do together as a family
All in all, this planner has made it so much easier for me to think through our year and bring it all to life in such a beautiful and inspiring way. If you’d like to find out more, check out Anna’s lovely Etsy shop at Anna Vance PaperCo.
